Editor’s note – Spring 2024

Our region is full of truly remarkable people and it's our pleasure to introduce you to some of them this spring.

Welcome to the spring 2024 edition of the Hills Wanderer!

With every edition of the magazine, I learn more about what a diverse, deep and interesting community the Adelaide Hills is.

Our region is full of truly remarkable people and it’s our pleasure to introduce you to some of them this spring.

There are few who can say they’ve stood on the top of the world and even fewer who have also circumnavigated it, but Adelaide Hills woman Katie Sarah is one of them.

Join me as she takes us on a journey around the globe and recalls what it was like to stand at the top of the world’s highest peak, just a few years after taking up mountaineering.

Also meet the man whose talent for singing catapulted him onto the world stage after humble beginnings performing in his school musical in country South Australia; and step inside the home kitchen of one of the region’s best known cheesemakers, Kris Lloyd, known for her unique – and sometimes surprising – range.

I hope that through this edition of the Hills Wanderer, you, like me, are inspired by the wonderful community of which we’re part and the beautiful place we’re blessed to call home.
