Timothy Brown got down on one knee to propose to Kiri Thompson

Timothy Brown got down on one knee to propose to Kiri Thompson during a weekend away at McLaren Vale.

“We went to Serafino Winery and had a six course dinner degustation with wine pairings,” Kiri says.

“Tim organised for the ring to be brought out under a smoky glass lid.

“I thought it was another dessert then I turned around and he was down on one knee.”

Timothy met Kiri, originally of Bridgewater, on Tinder and it took just a little over a week for the pair to realise they had something special.

The couple, now of Mt Barker, were married on April 20, 2024 at Tiny House on the Prairie at Cudlee Creek, surrounded by family and friends and with their two-year-old Australian Shepherd, Stella, as their ring bearer.

The wedding also included several other special moments including a self-choreographed first dance, complete with a lift, photos in the paddock with horses and a smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country.

“Tim’s parents did a smoking ceremony to welcome everybody, his mum did a Welcome to Country in English and his nephew (aided by his sister) did a welcome to country in language,” Kiri says.
